Our comprehensive eye exam is a must for for children, teens, adults and seniors. Eye function evaluations allow us to determine how well your eyes are working, both individually and together. Optos Retinal Imaging allows us to get a 200-degree view of the retina without dilating your pupils for the eye exam. Our tonometry and HRT (Heisenberg Retina Tomograph) helps us identify possible glaucoma. We also provide PRT corneal thickness evaluations to check for a condition called keratoconus that can cause severe visual distortion.
Vision exams enable our Columbia optometrist to diagnose refractive disorders such as farsightedness, nearsightedness and presbyopia. If you have trouble reading specific lines on an eye chart, we can find the ideal corrective lens prescription to compensate.
We offer a wide range of eyeglass options, frames and accessories, as well as contact lenses to correct a refractive error. To achieve the most accurate fit and vision correction, our Columbia optometrist administers a contact lens exam to measure the structures and contours of your eye in precise detail.
Keratoconus occurs when thin or weak corneal tissues bulge outward in a cone shape, impairing refraction -- but our keratoconus treatment in Columbia can help. Depending in the severity of your condition, your keratoconus treatment in Columbia may include corrective eyeglasses, scleral contacts that "vault over" the corneal bulge, or hard lenses on top of soft lenses for optimal comfort as well as vision correction.
Eye diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma require immediate treatment to prevent ever-worsening permanent vision less. We can administer medications to help keep these diseases in check while recommending preventative care to protect the eyes from unnecessary damage and disease. We can also treat conjunctivitis, hordeolum (stye), flashers/floaters and dry eye syndrome.
